The other day I was visiting someone at the hospital and all of a sudden the alarms starting going off. That was very scary. Immediately everyone starting looking for the exit signs. I have to admit, that is the first thing I thought of too, but then I realized there had to be something more to it. Why was the nurses not trying to move patients? I went to the nurses station and started to ask questions. They weren't very helpful, but I insisted on knowing what was going on. Turns out that someone had pulled an emergency level. In my opinion they should have made an announcement. That is what intercoms are for. I was very upset as I watched people trying to evacuate not knowing what was happening. Something like this could cause someone to really get hurt. I spoke with someone in charge and she agreed that there should have been an announcement. Maybe next time they will think about this and learn from experience.
